SC01 Developing Effective Leadership Skills in Science in Readiness for Inspection in the New Framework

Overview

This course is split over two 2-hour sessions. This training enables science subject leaders to develop the skills necessary to have a positive impact on children’s outcomes in science.

By the end of the course, you will:

• Understand how to be a highly effective science subject leader and be aware of the difference between a leader and a manager.
• Have accurately identified your leadership style and those of other colleagues.
• Have used high-quality self-evaluation to identify strengths and weaknesses in current science curriculum provision.
• Use the outcomes of self-evaluation to plan for effective strategic development to improve teaching and learning in science.
• Have a clear overview of the science curriculum.
• Have a sound understanding of best practice in science to implement in your school in readiness for inspection.
