ML05 PE Outstanding Subject Leadership 5: Giving strong account for your subject: PE

Overview

A 3 hour session providing a specific approach for subject leaders to give strong account in PE in your school.

School Impact

By the end of this training, you will:

1) Have put together a first draft of your own PE PowerPoint structuring and summarising the key messages and information required when communicating the impact of the Quality of Education and Leadership & Management in PE to head teachers, governors, other stakeholders, and Ofsted.

2) Be ready to give strong account for PE during the subject leader meeting in a deep dive (PE Subject Leader Conversation with the Inspectors).

3) Be informed by updated Education Inspection Framework methodology and Ofsted’s research reviews and subject reports (April 2021) and as PE subject leader directed to reflect upon what you know about progress and impact in PE in your school and how to share information about:

· PE: Context, Website, Attainment
· Intent, Rationale & Progress across your PE curriculum: Key knowledge across all the strands of PE (Both statutory & non-statutory)
· Sequencing, Assessment & Long-Term Memory
· Culture & Inclusivity
· Leadership Systems to Secure Impact:
· Monitoring and Evaluation
· CPD
· Self-Evaluation and Strategic Planning – including key strengths and areas for development.
