By the end of the course you will have:

• Have produced a reflective learning journal that charts your growing development and understanding of your coaching experience and provides a ‘go to manual’ of self evaluation and evidence of impact;

• Know the difference between coaching and mentoring and recognise the importance of modelling in the coaching cycle for you as a subject/department lead;

• Understand as a leader how to be a good coach and in doing so contribute to facilitating an effective coaching culture in your own setting;

• Know how to scaffold L&T conversations, offer effective feedback and implement and incremental coaching cycle with the appropriate monitoring processes in place (to show impact), in your role as a leader

• Understand how coaching can support mental health and wellbeing in a school setting;

• Have a set of materials that will support you personally to develop your own coaching skills and allow you to train, develop and nurture those skills in other colleagues.
