Overview
A 2-hour Time2Train session for Art subject leaders to develop a whole-school approach to planning and delivering Art in your primary school, focusing on knowledge and skills, techniques, media, and vocabulary specific to painting across all years in the primary school.School Impact
This is the third of a series of 6 sessions which can be booked individually or as a package.We can help you put in place a robust Art curriculum, ensuring progression of knowledge and skills and comprehensive coverage of media throughout the school.
There will be a practical element to the course; all requirements for equipment and materials will be sent out prior to the course so that delegates can be prepared. Hopefully, it will be a fun session that will enable Art subject leaders to support their colleagues and non-art specialists to feel confident in delivering teaching painting in their schools.
Exemplar material is shared, and during the session, you will be coached and supported by an ECM adviser to complete your own progression of skills in painting.
By the end of the session:
• Subject leaders will have a bank of painting vocabulary to use.
• Subject leaders will have painting activities they can take back to school to use in classes and to support non-art specialist colleagues with the delivery of teaching painting.
• Subject leaders will be clear on the progression of knowledge and skills in painting across a primary school.
• Subject leaders will have some suggestions of artists to study which will enrich the painting techniques taught.
