Recent inspection reports highlight the need for subject leaders to develop their subject knowledge and to support other staff to deliver the curriculum well through high quality CPD- this course is designed to enhance subject leader and teaching staff subject knowledge in your subject.

• Do you know how the subject specific knowledge & skills are embedded within your curriculum? Are you certain it is progressive & sequenced?

• Would you like to have a better understanding of the expectations of Ofsted in relation to the effectiveness of the Quality of Education in your subject?

• Do you want to be more knowledgeable about and understand how to use the Ofsted Aide Memoirs and training materials to support improvement in your subject?

This session will be subject specific to meet the needs of individual subject leaders.

Target Audience: Subject Leaders of all subjects, Department leaders, Senior Leaders

School Impact: By the end of this training session, senior, subject leaders & middle leaders will:

• Have a good understanding of the Ofsted subject review papers in their subject.

• Have a clear understanding of the expectations that Ofsted have when evaluating the INTENT, IMPLEMENTATION, and IMPACT in a subject area.

• Understand the requirements placed on each subject and subject leader in relation to the subject specific knowledge, vocabulary and skills required from the INTENT (curriculum teaching plans), the IMPLEMENTATION (learning, teaching, and assessment) and IMPACT (evidence in pupils’ outcomes in workbooks, the pupil voice).

• Be clear about the questions leaders need to be asking themselves about all aspects of the Quality of Education, Personal Development and Leadership & Management, including the questions they need to be ready to answer when speaking to senior leaders, governors, and inspectors.

• Define the strengths and next steps for the subject area- including any CPD required for staff.

Subject Aide Memoirs and Inspector Guidance above, will be considered and explained as part of this training.
