EN02 Improving Writing Stamina - Primary

Overview

A 2-hour course which offers a range of evidence-based strategies and practical classroom examples to teach pupils to use strategies for planning and monitoring their writing, as well as promoting fluent written transcription skills. The course is applicable to KS1 and KS2 teachers and leaders.

• Have a good understanding of the challenges facing primary-aged writers and the implications for reaching age-related expectations.

• Have an understanding of a range of key strategies which best support the writing process, including planning, modelling, and structured support.

• Understand the importance of engendering engagement in writing tasks, such that pupils are motivated to write independently.
